This Fire Safety Awareness course trains learners how to deal with fire in their workplace. It highlights the dangers of fire & the importance of fire prevention.
Fire Safety Awareness course content:
- Causes/cost of fires
- Fire safety legislation (Overview)
- Understanding fire. Physics and chemistry of fire
- How fire developments and spreads
- Action in the event of fire
- Action upon hearing the fire alarm
- Action in tackling the fire
- Choosing the correct extinguisher
- Use of fire extinguisher
- Raising alarm and summoning the fire brigade
- Evacuation procedures
- Role of the wardens
Course Objectives:
On completion of this course, learners will be able to:
- Understand the three components necessary to create fire (i.e. Fire Triangle)
- Know what to do in the event of a fire
- Know their evacuation procedures
- Select the most appropriate fire extinguisher

Training Methods:
This is an interactive course with all learners getting some practical experience using fire extinguishers. The course is divided into two parts, theoretical & practical components.
