This Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (DSEAR) Training course provides users with an understanding of the DSEAR regulations whilst highlighting the responsibilities that they and their employers share. Dangerous Substances are any substances used or present at work that may, if not controlled, cause harm and injury to people as a result of a fire or explosion (HSE) so it’s crucial for staff who could encounter these substances to be trained in DSEAR.

About this course

The Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations were introduced to make workplaces safer for anyone who works with flammable or potentially explosive substances or substances corrosive to metal.

Without proper controls in place, these substances can ignite and explode, causing serious harm to anyone nearby.

DSEAR places responsibilities on employers to keep anyone who might be affected by dangerous substances safe and to control any hazards they pose. However, employees also have a crucial role to play in keeping themselves and others safe at work.

This course teaches the user about DSEAR and what it covers, what responsibilities employers have to keep everyone safe, and what employees must do to help their organisation comply with the regulations.
